Shift Brewer


Job Description:

Maintain and execute all functions according to LCBC policy and procedure, safety requirements, and best practices. Tasks include but are not limited to all aspects of raw materials handling, milling of grain, wort production, fermentation monitoring, yeast handling and pitching, clarification, transfers, finished beer monitoring, equipment CIP and general sanitation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute the necessary production duties including but not limited to wort production, fermentation management, filtration and finishing, and bright beer handling.
  • Ensure that all beer is produced to LCBC standards and specification by following recipes and procedures as set by the brewmaster and/or head brewer.
  • Maintain brewing, cellaring, clarification and other related documentation in an organized, complete and accurate manner.
  • Attend brewery staff meetings as required.
  • Clean (CIP/COP) and sanitize all equipment and work areas safely to maintain consistent beer quality.
  • Maintain healthy communication with other departments (QA/QC, Packaging, Distribution staff, Tasting Rooms).
  • Possess or desire to possess a knowledge of brewing and beer styles as well as a desire to learn more.
  • Willingness to participate in festivals and promotional events as needed while representing the company and the brand in a professional manner in and outside of the brewery.
  • Perform all job functions within the structure described in the Employee handbook of policies and procedures at LCBC
  • Ability to adapt to new procedures and methods as the brewery evolves and grows.
  • Willingness to step into other departments if needed. (Package, Cellar, etc.)

 

Job Requirements:

  • Previous commercial brewery experience required
  • Formal brewing education preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work and communicate well with others.
  • Organized and detail oriented; accurate record keeping skills.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills in a brewing/manufacturing setting.
  • Read, write and calculate basic algebra.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift 55 lbs. from ground to shoulder high.
  • Lift 110 lbs. from ground to waist high and moving 150 lbs. along the floor.
  • Climb stairs, ramps, and ladders.
  • Work in small and confined spaces.
  • Work safely with chemicals with reasonable safety accommodations.
  • Work in loud environment with basic safety accommodations.

Work Schedule

  • Brewery operates typically Monday thru Saturday. But will transition to all days as business demands.
  • Usually run 4 x 10 hour shifts. AM shifts 6-7 am to 4-5. PM shift 11 am – 1 pm to 9-11 pm or as needed.

Schedules can change and this job will require a level of flexibility.

Packaging Line Tech


  • Work on the packaging line
  • Wash and fill kegs according to schedule
  • Take daily inventory
  • Preparing dry hops for beers and dry hops upon brewers’ approval
  • Cleaning all areas in and outside of the brewery
  • Follow SOP
  • General facility and equipment maintenance
  • Coordinated with the head brewer in regards to prioritizing schedule
  • Operate forklift safely

Mandatory Qualifications (do not apply without any of these)

  • A love for/and be passionate about craft beer
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, self-starter with the desire to excel in instances of limited direction
  • Excellent interpersonal communications, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks knowing the order of importance and difficulty
  • Dedicated sense of urgency and drive to achieve tasks
  • Mechanical intuition
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs shoulder high, and 100 lbs waist high
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs (a lot) as well as be on your feet for an entire shift
  • Competence in all forms of safety protocol
  • Detail-oriented as well as strong record-keeping skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Desire to work hard and get things done
  • Work both shifts AM and/or PM
  • Be prepared schedule changes happen

Preferred (or strong desire to learn about it)

– Food or beverage packaging systems and process experience
– Knowledge of chemical use, storage, and safety
– General knowledge of brewing and packaging

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $13.00 – $15.00 per hour DOE

Delivery Driver!


Job Type: Full-time

Duties:

  • Operating company vehicles in a professional, safe and courteous manner.
  • Providing great customer service to our wonderful customers.
  • Delivering La Cumbre Brewing Co products to customers in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring accurate delivery and appropriate quantities of products.
  • Merchandising La Cumbre Brewing Co products ensuring they are fully stocked and faced.
  • Performing daily vehicle maintenance checks and reporting potential mechanical issues to management.
  • Maintaining a clean company vehicle and workplace.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Open availability.
  • Great attitude.
  • Great communication skills.
  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • The ability to lift and/or move up to 165 pounds.
  • A New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License.
  • A valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.

Candidates must demonstrate a high level of accuracy, and ability to work without direct supervision. Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds. The work environment can be loud, the employee is exposed to the outside weather conditions during deliveries and exposed to airborne particles and fumes.
