Every year the Katmai National Park hosts its annual Fat Bear Week, a competition that pits its bear residents against each other in a head-to-head, bracketed championship. The winner? Whichever one of these fuzzy buddies gains the most weight for winter. This year Otis, one of the park’s elderly residents, took 1st place, making him a 4-time champion. Here’s to you, Otis. You really do put the major in Ursa Major. ⁠
